Portal of the Great Old One

As our first class of the second year at New3dge concept art, we were tasked to design a mountain gateway. I decided to design a gateway to a mysterious eldritch world, said to be the realm of the Great Old One, Cthulhu.
It was really fun to research Lovecraftian mythos and write a cute little script for this one (though you can unfortunately barely see it in the final). It was also fun to make a reimagining of Cthulhu, I kind of went more regal than a lot of more classic depicitons but I hope I did him justice.
